Southampton police: Driver charged with DWI in Flanders

A Hampton Bays man was arrested Saturday on a drunken driving charge in Flanders, Southampton Town police said.

Jeyson Zeno-Munoz, 32, driving at around 2 a.m. on Flanders Road when police pulled him over for traffic infractions, officials said.

During the investigation, police determined he was intoxicated, officials said.

Mr. Zeno-Munoz was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, police said.

He was held for an arraignment, officials said.

A 31-year-old man was arrested on a drug charge in Flanders on Sunday.

Anthony McCoy of Flanders was reportedly seen pouring a Four Loko malt beverage into a 7-Eleven Big Gulp cup at around 3 a.m. on Silver Brook Drive and he then threw the empty can on the ground. He was searched during his arrest and was found to be in possession of a PCP-dipped cigarette, police said.

He was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and two violations.

• A Riverhead man was arrested for drunken driving in Flanders on Sunday.

Marvin Cojoncan, 25, was traveling north on Flanders Road at around 6 a.m. and couldn’t stay in his lane, officials said. He allegedly had glassy eyes, smelled of alcohol, performed poorly on standard field sobriety tests and failed a pre-screen breath test.

He was charged with misdemeanor DWI and two traffic violations.

• Police arrested a 30-year-old man for driving with a suspended license in Riverside last Wednesday.

Jose L. Tocay of Riverhead was allegedly stopped on Old Quogue Road at around 6 p.m. for having tinted windows. Police then learned that he had a suspended license for a previous alcohol-related incident and that he was driving without a court-operated interlock device.

Mr. Tocay was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and operating a vehicle without an interlock device, all misdemeanors.

• Police arrested a Jamesport man for driving with a suspended license in Hampton Bays last Tuesday.

Marcel Velez-Velin, 33, was stopped on Montauk Highway at around 7:10 p.m. for reportedly talking on his cellphone while driving when police learned he had a suspended license. He was also found to be in possession of marijuana, police said.

He was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and multiple violations.

• A Riverhead man was arrested in Northampton Friday for driving with a suspended license.

Matthew Christopher, 26, was seen driving with defective tail lamps at around 9:50 p.m. on Moriches-Riverhead Road. Police later learned that he had his license revoked and suspended, officials said.

He was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and two traffic violations.

• Police arrested a Riverhead man for driving without a license in East Quogue on Saturday.

Luis Huareya, 41, was reportedly traveling northbound on Lewis Road at around 1 p.m. when police learned that his license was suspended in February 2013.

He was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor.

• A Riverhead woman was arrested for driving with a suspended license in Shinnecock Hills on Saturday.

Maria Dominguez, 29, was allegedly stopped for a traffic infraction on County Road 39 at around 7:30 p.m. when she was found to be driving with a suspended license.

She was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and two traffic violations.

• Police arrested a Center Moriches man for drunken driving in Riverside on Sunday.

Carlos Chipix, 33, was allegedly seen asleep behind the wheel of a running car at around 3:20 a.m. on Pine Street. Police said he performed poorly on a roadside sobriety test.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated DWI with a blood alcohol content of .18 or higher, both misdemeanors, and multiple traffic violations.

• An East Patchogue man was arrested for driving with a suspended license in Riverside last Wednesday.

John Michielli, 45, was driving near the traffic circle at around 2:30 p.m. when he was allegedly stopped for having tinted windows and an expired inspection. A DMV check revealed that he had eight suspensions on his license, police said.

He was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor, and multiple traffic violations.

Southampton Town police arrested a Riverhead man for forgery in North Sea last Tuesday.

Ruben Cardona-Manchame, 25, was stopped on Noyack Road about 6:55 p.m. for allegedly having an expired inspection. Police then learned that he had a counterfeit inspection sticker, falsified registration sticker and switched plates, officials said.

He was charged with second-degree possession of a forged instrument, a felony, and numerous vehicle violations.

• New York State Police arrested an East Quogue man Saturday for drunk driving in Flanders.

David Price, 52, was reportedly stopped on Flanders Road for vehicle and traffic violations when police determined he was intoxicated.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor.

• State police arrested a Southold man for drunk driving in Southampton Saturday.

Christopher Hegel, 50, was involved a one-car rollover accident and later found to be intoxicated, officials said.

He was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor.

• State police arrested a 20-year-old man for disorderly conduct in Riverhead Sunday.

Delando Henderson of Riverhead was charged with second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, a violation, stemming from a domestic incident, police said.

• Southampton police arrested a Flanders man Monday for driving with a suspended license in Water Mill.

When Gustavo Valenzuela was pulled over during a routine traffic stop on Diamond Court around 8:15 a.m., police learned that he had a suspended license as well as an open bench warrant for a 2004 open alcoholic beverage charge, officials said.

He was charged with unlawful operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, police said.

• A Flanders resident reportedly had a bicycle stolen from the front yard of her Riverside Avenue home sometime between 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. last Tuesday. No arrest has been made.

Southampton blotter: Driver gives fake name after car accident

A Riverhead man was arrested after he gave officers a fake name following a vehicle accident last Wednesday in Hampton Bays, Southampton Town police said.

Kevin Santos, 22, was driving south on Flanders Road around 10:50 a.m. and rear-ended another car, officials said. When questioned by police, Mr. Santos allegedly gave a different name and said he didn’t know his birthday.

He was charged with false personation, a misdemeanor, officials said.

• A Riverhead man was arrested on a drunken driving charge Sunday in Flanders, Southampton Town police said.

Jorge Velecela, 50, was driving on Flanders Road around  2:10 a.m. when he was pulled over for traffic violations, officials said.

During the investigation, police found Mr. Velecela had red, glassy eyes, slurred speech and smelled of alcohol, officials said.

After failing sobriety and Breathalyzer tests, Mr. Velecela was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and numerous traffic violations, police said.

• A Hampton Bays man was arrested last Monday on a drunken driving charge in Flanders, according to the New York State Police Department.

Steven Giarraputo, 37, was driving on Flanders Road and was pulled over for having a headlight out, officials said. He was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, police said.

• A Laurel man was arrested Friday in Riverhead on a drunken driving charge, according to the New York State Police Department.

Robert Bosworth, 19, was driving on Route 58 when police pulled him over for speeding, officials said.

He was charged with aggravated DWI, police said.

• A Sag Harbor woman was caught driving with a suspended license Friday in Riverside, Southampton Town police said.

Juliana Souza, 28, was driving near the traffic circle on Flanders Road around 11:45 p.m. when police pulled her over for speeding, officials said.

During the investigation, police found that her license had been suspended and Southampton Justice Court had issued a warrant for her arrest, officials said.

She was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and multiple violations, police said.

Cops: Two people caught with crack cocaine in Riverside

Two people were arrested on drug charges during separate investigations last week in Riverside, according to a Southampton Town police press release.

Around 5:30 p.m. on Friday, police reportedly found Rasheeda Brown of Riverhead, 30, “acting suspiciously” as she attempted to conceal a crack pipe in her hand.

Ms. Brown allegedly threw crack cocaine on the ground and stepped on it as an officer attempted to pick it up, police said.

After reportedly struggling with the officer, Ms. Brown was charged with tampering with physical evidence, a felony, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and resisting arrest, both misdemeanors, officials said.

On Saturday, police made a second drug arrest in Riverside.

Around 5:15 p.m., police said, they responded to the area to investigate complaints about “suspicious subjects and ongoing narcotics use.”

During the investigation, police reportedly found Shareem Giles of Riverhead, 45, attempting to hide drugs in his pants.

As officers began talking to Mr. Giles, a container holding crack cocaine fell out of his pants and onto the floor, officials said.

Mr. Giles was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.

A Stony Brook man was arrested for driving while intoxicated in Flanders on Friday.

A vehicle driven by Dylan Vitti, 24, was pulled over after being observed failing to stay in the proper lane on Flanders Road around 1:40 a.m., police said. He was found to be intoxicated and was charged with aggravated DWI, a misdemeanor, and numerous traffic violations.

• New York State Police arrested a Miller Place man for drunk driving in Flanders last Tuesday.

Thomas Rosante, 33, was stopped on State Route 24 after he was seen moving unsafely from his lane, officials said.

He was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor.

• A Riverhead woman was arrested for theft in Riverside last Thursday.

Shana Pippin, 30, was identified by the victim in a photo lineup in connection with a petit larceny that occurred on April 25, officials said.

Ms. Pippin was charged with petit larceny, a misdemeanor.

• Police arrested a Northampton man for driving with a suspended license in Riverside Friday.

Herman Patterson, 32, was driving westbound on Maynard Street around 10:40 p.m. and was observed tailgating a car when police stopped him and learned he had a suspended driver’s license, officials said.

He was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and a traffic violation.

Mr. Patterson also was arrested in March for aggravated unlicensed operation and possession of marijuana, according to a News-Review article.

• A Bohemia woman was arrested for driving without a license in Riverside on Saturday.

Erica Gerrity, 42, was stopped for speeding eastbound near the traffic circle at Nugent Drive at around 7 p.m. when police learned her license was suspended in Tennessee and New York, officials said.

She was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and multiple traffic violations.

• Police arrested a Riverhead man for driving with a suspended license in Hampton Bays on Sunday.

Victor Velasquez, 38, was involved in an accident on Ponquogue Avenue around 12:50 p.m. when police learned his license had been suspended in April for failing to answer a summons out of East Hampton Town Court, officials said.

He was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor, and a traffic violation.

• A Bridgehampton man was arrested for driving without a license in Flanders last Tuesday.

Jose Guanga, 54, was observed driving erratically on Flanders Road around 12:45 a.m. and was stopped by a police officer, who determined Mr. Guanga had a suspended license, officials said.

He was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and multiple traffic violations.

• Police arrested a Westhampton man for driving an unregistered car in Riverside last Tuesday.

Juan Tintibalan, 28, was observed driving eastbound on Riverleigh Avenue around 7:45 p.m. when he was stopped for having something hanging from his rearview mirror, obstructing his view, officials said. Police then learned he had a suspended driver’s license, officials said.

He was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and two traffic violations.

• A Patchogue man was arrested for driving with a suspended license in Northampton last Wednesday.

When Nicholas Callister, 28, was stopped for speeding on Moriches-Riverhead Road around 5:10 a.m., police determined he had a suspended driver’s license, officials said.

He was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and two traffic violations.

• A Center Moriches woman was arrested for driving without a license in Northampton last Wednesday.

Mynor Peralta, 28, was stopped on Speonk-Riverhead Road around 7:50 p.m. for speeding. She was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and two traffic violations.

Southampton blotter: Driver falls asleep at wheel, charged with DWI

Southampton Town police arrested a Flanders man who was reportedly asleep at the wheel for driving while intoxicated Saturday in Water Mill.

Julio Bermeo, 40, was reportedly sleeping in his vehicle at the Water Mill post office on Montauk Highway when witnesses attempted to wake him up. He allegedly drove toward the loading dock and fell back asleep, then hit the loading dock twice after being woken up again around 7:25 a.m.

Police then arrived and found Mr. Bermeo asleep in the car’s passenger seat, officials said. A witness allegedly identified Mr. Bermeo as the driver.

Mr. Bermeo reportedly failed sobriety tests and was transported to police headquarters for processing. He was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated with a prior conviction in the past 10 years — a felony — and multiple violations.

• Police arrested a Bridgehampton man on a drug charge last Thursday in Riverside.

Lasjhon Hill, 45, was allegedly seen on private property with a “No Trespassing” sign around 1:10 p.m. An officer approached him and found he had a glass pipe normally used for smoking crack cocaine with residue, officials said.

He was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and trespassing, a violation.

• Police arrested a Flanders man for drunk driving on Sunday.

Rudy Tocay-Punay, 35, was involved in a car accident in Flanders around 12:45 p.m. while leaving the 7-Eleven on Flanders Road, officials said. He reportedly performed poorly on standardized field sobriety tests and was held overnight for a morning arraignment.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and two violations.

• New York State police arrested a Southampton man Sunday for drunk driving in Flanders.

Jose Cabrera-Perez, 27, was stopped for moving from his lane unsafely on Flanders Road, officials said. He was charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated.

• State police arrested a Shirley man Saturday for driving while intoxicated in Flanders.

William Brown, 29, was stopped for speeding on Route 24 when he was determined to be intoxicated, officials said. He was charged with misdemeanor DWI.

• A Brentwood man was arrested Sunday for driving while intoxicated in Northampton.

Santiago Gonzalez, 39, was seen driving while unable to stay in his lane of travel around 7:25 p.m. on Lake Avenue, crossing over both double yellow and sold white lines, officials said. He failed a sobriety test and a pre-screening device, officials said.

He was charged with DWI and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, both misdemeanors, and two traffic violations.

• A Riverhead man was arrested last Tuesday for driving without a court-mandated interlock device in Riverside.

Agustin Leon-Nunez, 47, was stopped on Riverleigh Avenue around 12:55 p.m. for reportedly having multiple traffic violations when police learned he had a revoked license in New York State and that he was driving without a court-ordered interlock device.

He was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, circumventing an interlock, aggravated unlicensed operation — alcohol-related, all misdemeanors. He was also charged with numerous traffic violations.

• Southampton Town police arrested a Bellport man for driving with a suspended license in Riverside on Friday.

Ashanti Peacock, 25, was stopped near the traffic circle and Route 31 around 10:15 p.m. for an alleged broken headlight when police learned his license was suspended for failing to pay a driver assessment fee.

He was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and a traffic violation.

Four people were arrested last week on drug charges in the Flanders and Riverside areas, according to a Southampton Town police press release.

• John Boyd, 25, of Hampton Bays was pulled over in Riverside last Monday around 7:15 p.m. for driving with an expired inspection sticker, police said.

During the investigation, an officer found Mr. Boyd was driving with a suspended license and was in possession marijuana and Xanax pills, officials said.

He was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, both misdemeanors, and two violations, police said.

• Tomasz Zalewski, 27, of Riverhead was pulled over near Ludlam Park in Riverside last Tuesday around 7:50 p.m. and was found to be in possession of crack cocaine, police said.

He was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, officials said.

• Jonathan Debe, 24, of Mastic was pulled over last Wednesday around 7:15 p.m. in Flanders for a violation and was found to be in possession of marijuana, police said.

He was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor, and a traffic violation, officials said.

• Jessica Lee, 34, of Riverhead was found to be in possession of marijuana while sitting in her parked vehicle in Flanders last Friday around 11:20 p.m., officials said.

She was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor, officials said.

Southampton Town police arrested a Hampton Bays woman Saturday for driving while intoxicated in Flanders.

Megan Wiley, 21, passed three emergency cars stopped on Flanders Road near Birch Creek Road around 5:35 a.m. at an “unsafe speed,” officials said. Ms. Wiley also failed to stay in her lane of travel, was driving while intoxicated and possessed marijuana, police said. She was charged with misdemeanor DWI and multiple violations.

• New York State Police arrested a Riverhead woman for driving while intoxicated in Riverhead last Monday.

Jelisa Bullock, 25, was stopped on East Main Street for moving from her lane unsafely, police said. She was charged with misdemeanor DWI.

• Police arrested a Wading River man for driving with a suspended license in Flanders last Wednesday.

Edward Gavin, 30, was stopped around 8:30 a.m. near Quogue Riverhead Road and Pleasure Drive for a traffic violation when police learned he had multiple license suspensions and a revocation, officials said.

He was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor, and two traffic violations.

• A Riverhead man was arrested for driving with a suspended license in Riverside Friday.

Jose Ismale, 50, was stopped around 7 p.m. after patrol cameras on Nugent Drive alerted police to the fact that Mr. Ismale had a suspended registration, officials said. After he was stopped, the car was also found to be uninsured and Mr. Ismale’s license had a suspended identification number, police said.

He was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and two traffic violations.

• A Flanders resident reported that over $50,000 was removed from hiding spaces in his home on Flanders Boulevard South May 30, officials said.

No arrest has been made.

• After being struck in the face by an unknown man at Hampton Deli, an Ithaca man returned to the Flanders Road location to find a brick laying on his windshield, causing damage to his car, officials said. There were no witnesses and no videos, police said. No arrest has been made.

• A car was stolen Sunday from a driveway on Flanders Road, police said. The owner said the 2002 Ford F-250 pickup truck with side and over-the-top ladder racks was taken around 6 a.m. The keys had been in the car, officials said. Police reportedly canvassed the area but could not locate the vehicle.

Southampton Town police arrested a Bay Shore woman for aggravated driving while intoxicated in Flanders last Wednesday.

Around 2:45 p.m., Noreen Domanico, 54, was sitting in the driver’s seat of a car on Westhampton-Riverhead Road that had been reported to police as being on fire, officials said. When police arrived, the car wasn’t on fire but reportedly had a blown radiator. Ms. Domanico allegedly smelled like alcohol and had slurred speech, no balance and bloodshot, glassy eyes. She performed poorly on a pre-screening breath test and was arrested for DWI and taken to headquarters to be processed, officials said. Her dog, which was in the car, was taken to Animal Control and the car was towed, police said.

Ms. Domanico was charged with aggravated DWI and driving while intoxicated, both misdemeanors, police said.

• A Southampton man was arrested Sunday for criminal mischief in Flanders, police said.

Carl Morgan, 50, allegedly kicked in a door at a Maple Avenue home around 8:45 a.m., causing damage to the frame and molding.

Mr. Morgan was charged with criminal mischief with intent to damage property, a misdemeanor.

• Police arrested a Riverhead woman for driving with a suspended license in Shinnecock Hills last Tuesday.

Lisa Hynds, 37, was stopped for speeding on Sunrise Highway around 10:20 a.m., when police learned her license was suspended in October 2015 for a DWI, Southampton Town police said. She was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor, and a traffic violation.

• A Riverhead woman was arrested for driving without a license in Riverside last Thursday.

Neyda Rodriquez-Estrada, 35, was involved in a car accident on Flanders Road and Cross River Drive around 9:25 a.m. in which minor injuries were sustained, officials said. Police determined that Ms. Rodriquez-Estrada failed to yield while making a left turn from Route 24 onto Route 105 when she collided with another car, police said. A DMV check at the scene showed that she only has a Maryland permit as well as a summons from June 2011 for failing to appear in court, officials said.

Ms. Rodriquez-Estrada was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor, and two traffic violations.

• Police arrested a Riverhead man for driving with a suspended license in Sagaponack last Thursday.

Francisco Salguero, 45, was headed west on Sagaponack Road going 40 mph in a 15 mph school zone around 8:55 a.m., officials said. An officer followed the car along Parsonage Lane, where Mr. Salguero was driving 40 mph in a 25 mph zone, officials said. The officer pulled the car over and learned that Mr. Salguero reportedly had a suspended license and bench warrant following a DWI offense in July 2010.

He was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor, and brought to court on the bench warrant.

• The exterior of a woman’s car was reportedly damaged last Tuesday after it was parked outside a unit at Peconic View Mobile Home Park in Flanders. In addition, police said, 40 Clonazepam pills were removed from inside the vehicle.

Southampton Blotter: Seaford woman arrested twice in Flanders

Southampton Town police arrested a Seaford woman last Sunday in Flanders for driving while ability impaired by drugs. 

Leann Davis, 34, was reportedly seen traveling south on Flanders Road around 4:55 a.m. crossing over the solid white and yellow lines. She also failed to dim her headlights for oncoming traffic, officials said. When police stopped Ms. Davis, they noticed she smelled like alcohol. She performed poorly on a standard field sobriety test, police said. Ms. Davis also performed poorly on two additional tests, one at the scene and another at police headquarters, officials said.

Ms. Davis was charged with driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol, a misdemeanor, and two traffic violations.

Last Sunday, Ms. Davis was also arrested after police said she intentionally damaged someone’s car in Flanders, causing a reported $250 worth of damage. She was charged with third-degree criminal mischief in that incident.

• A Wading River man was arrested last Saturday for leaving the scene of an accident in Hampton Bays.

William Siagiannis, 31, reportedly hit a pedestrian near Rumba Rum Bar on Ranoe Place Road around 9 p.m. and left the scene before police arrived. After an investigation, Mr. Siagiannis was arrested and taken to police headquarters for processing, officials said. He was charged with leaving the scene where a person was injured in an accident/failing to show license and insurance ID, a misdemeanor.

• New York State police arrested Keryann Brown of Aquebogue, 43, for misdemeanor second degree-criminal contempt last Tuesday, officials said.

• A Riverhead man was arrested last Saturday for driving with a suspended license in Flanders.

Jose Ortez-Oliva, 31, was stopped around 4:30 p.m. near Flanders and Evergreen roads for a traffic violation when police learned he had a suspended license, officials said. He was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor.

• Police arrested a Riverhead man last Saturday for drunken driving in Flanders.

William MacDougal, 50, was found in the driver’s seat of a car at a rest area entrance on Flanders Road around 4:20 a.m., the car running and his foot on the brake, officials said. When police approached Mr. MacDougal, he allegedly smelled like alcohol and had slurred speech. He performed poorly on standard field sobriety tests and failed a pre-screening breath test. He later admitted to drinking alcohol, officials said.

Mr. MacDougal was arrested and taken to police headquarters, where he was processed and held for arraignment, officials said. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor.

• Police arrested a Riverhead man last Saturday for drunken driving in Riverhead.

Oscar Quinteros, 35, was headed north on Peconic Avenue around 6 p.m. when he was stopped for failing to stay in his lane, police said. He reportedly performed poorly on standard field sobriety tests.

Mr. Quinteros was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and two traffic violations, police said.

• A Riverside resident reported that between 5:45 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. last Wednesday someone damaged the back window and hatchback door of the 2004 Ford Explorer, which was parked in his Ludlam Avenue driveway.

• A locked fire safe was reportedly removed from a man’s home on Evergreen Road in Flanders last Saturday, police said.

The safe included numerous passports, social security cards, birth certificates, three rings and $500 cash, officials said. The victim said he last saw the safe a week before the incident was reported. No arrest has been made.

Cops: Traffic stop leads to three drug arrests in Flanders

What began as a seat belt violation led to the arrest of three people last Thursday when a driver whose license had been revoked reportedly fled from police.

Kevin Smith, 40, of Flanders, was seen driving east on Riverside Avenue around 1:40 p.m. without a seat belt, Southampton police said. When the arresting officer made a U-turn, Mr. Smith allegedly sped down the street and abruptly pulled into his front yard, failed to signal and jumped out of the car. Police then learned Mr. Smith had a non-driver’s license ID due to a previous DWI conviction and was driving without a required interlock device, officials said. When police searched the car before impound they found a quantity of crack cocaine inside. The passengers in the car were then arrested, officials said.

One passenger, Sheryl Madr, 32, of Flanders was found to have a crack pipe containing crack cocaine in her bra, officials said.

Mr. Smith, Ms. Madr and Jennifer McCann, 32, of Westhampton Beach, were charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.

Mr. Smith was also charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and circumventing an interlock, all misdemeanors, and three traffic violations.

In June 2015, Mr. Smith was arrested for seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and traffic violations, according to a previous News-Review article.

Cops: Four local clerks busted in police alcohol sting

Clerks at four local stores were recently busted in a police sting operation that found the employees sold alcohol to minors, Southampton Town police said.

Police conducted New York State Liquor Authority compliance checks Friday and found the following establishments were in violation of selling alcohol to patrons under the age of 21, according to a police press release issued Sunday:

• Maria Pereiraramos, 33, of Flanders was arrested at Garden Deli, 790 Flanders Rd. in Flanders.

• Turgut Uyaniker, 49, of Centereach was arrested at Shell Gas Station, 9 Lake Ave. in Riverside.

• Perfecto Yanez, 33, of Riverhead was arrested at Marta’s Deli, 300 Riverleigh Ave. in Riverside.

• Joseph Clark, 23, of Flanders was arrested at Cumberland Farms Gas Station, 13 County Road 39 in Southampton.

Each clerk was charged with prohibited sale to a minor and first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child, both misdemeanors, officials said.

They were released on their own recognizance to return to court at a later date, police said.

Southampton Town police arrested four men, including three from Riverhead, on drug possession charges Saturday in Hampton Bays.

William Recino Salvarenga, 20; Saul Escobar, 19; and Isidiro Deleongalindo, 26, all of Riverhead; and Walter Nunez, 21, of Southampton were arrested after they were found to be in possession of cocaine, marijuana and alcohol on a West Landing Road property around 12:15 a.m., police said. The arrests were made after an extra patrol was requested for the location, officials said.

The men were all charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and open consumption of an alcoholic beverage, a violation.

• New York State Police arrested a Port Jefferson man Saturday for driving drunk in Flanders.

David Plath, 22, was stopped for speeding on Flanders Road and police learned he was intoxicated, officials said. He was charged with misdemeanor driving while intoxicated.

• Southampton Town police arrested a Flanders woman for driving with a revoked license in Riverside last Tuesday.

Roxy Dozier, 50, was stopped around 4:05 p.m. for driving without a license plate near State Route 24 and Enterprise Zone Drive when police learned her license was revoked for a previous DWI conviction, officials said. She was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor, and two traffic violations.

• A Copiague man was arrested for driving with a suspended license in Riverside last Tuesday.

Eric Krems, 37, was stopped for vehicle and traffic violations on Riverleigh Avenue around 10:15 a.m. when police said they learned he was driving with a suspended license. He was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and three traffic violations.

• Police arrested a Mastic woman Saturday for driving with a suspended license in Riverside.

Ivonne Munoz, 37, was stopped for speeding near Flanders Road and Vail Avenue around 9:30 a.m. when police learned she had a suspended license, officials said. She was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and two traffic violations.

• A Sound Beach man was arrested Friday for driving with a suspended license in Northampton.

James Randazzo, 58, was seen driving while using a cellphone near Lake Avenue and Lake View Drive around 7:25 a.m. Police said they learned he had a suspended license and had switched license plates on his unregistered and uninsured car.

He was charged with third-degree aggravated operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and multiple traffic violations.

• Police arrested a Riverhead man for driving with a suspended license in Riverside last Wednesday.

After Thomas Edler, 22, was stopped for speeding around 8:30 p.m. near Peconic Avenue and Flanders Road, police learned his license was suspended, officials said. He was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and multiple traffic violations.

• A man’s car was reportedly stolen from a parking spot at the 7-Eleven in Flanders last Tuesday, police said. The victim said he left his car running with the keys in the ignition while he ran inside to buy a cup of coffee. When he returned minutes later, his car wasn’t there, officials said. The police department issued a description of the car, which was later found unoccupied by a New York State trooper on Old Quogue Road with the keys inside it, officials said. Southampton Town police said they would follow up with the 7-Eleven owner to check video footage, police said. No arrest has been made.

• Police reported that a Flanders man heard a loud noise last Saturday night and saw a car drive away. Two days later, he noticed a 10-inch crack in his front windshield, officials said. Additional information was unavailable.

• A Flanders woman’s car, which was parked in her driveway on Quogue Avenue, was reportedly damaged last Monday after an unknown person threw a rock through the back window, police said.

• A Flanders woman reported last Sunday that she couldn’t find her red wallet, which contained her ID, bus pass and $27, police said. No arrest has been made.

• Police reported that the windshield of a Flanders man’s 1995 Ford pickup truck was destroyed sometime overnight last Sunday. No arrest has been made, officials said.

Southampton Town police arrested a Westhampton man for criminal possession of stolen property in Northampton last Wednesday.

Lawrence Brown, 18, was seen standing next to a blue Yamaha dirt bike with another person attempting to put gas into it at a Pine Court station around 8:55 p.m., officials said. After an investigation, police reportedly determined the bike was stolen and arrested Mr. Brown. He was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property in which the value exceeds $1,000, a felony.

• A Riverhead man was arrested for criminal contempt in Northampton last Wednesday.

Steven Eastwood, 18, was found visibly intoxicated on Topping Drive around 2 a.m. when police arrived after receiving a complaint, officials said. Mr. Eastwood, who possessed a vodka bottle and Bud Light beer can while on the steps of a pool, was unbalanced, smelled like alcohol and was found to be in direct violation of an active order of protection issued by the Suffolk County Family Court in November 2015, officials said. He was placed under arrest and unable to walk to the police car without assistance, police said. He was taken to headquarters and processed for a morning arraignment.

Mr. Eastwood was charged with second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor.

• Police arrested a Port Jefferson Station woman on drug charges in Northampton last Tuesday.

Kristina McCarthy, 40, was seen parked with some other people at Wildwood Park around 3:30 p.m. and fled when she saw police, officials said. When she was pulled over for making a U-Turn without signaling she reportedly gave police a false name and was found to be in possession of crack cocaine, suboxone and hypodermic needles.

Ms. McCarthy was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal personation and possession of a controlled substance in a non-original container, all misdemeanors.

• New York State Police arrested a Riverhead man for driving while intoxicated in Riverhead last Wednesday.

Luis Galvez, 38, was involved in a two-car accident at the corner of Osborne and Sweezy avenues when police learned he was intoxicated, officials said. He was released with a ticket to appear Sept. 14 in Riverhead Town Court.

Mr. Galvez was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor.

• New York State Police arrested a Mastic man for drunk driving in Flanders last Thursday.

Paul Mitchell Jr., 50, was pulled over during a traffic stop on State Route 24 near the traffic circle when police learned he was intoxicated, officials said. He was reportedly held for arraignment in Town of Southampton Court that day.

Mr. Mitchell was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor.

• Southampton Town Police arrested a Riverhead man for driving with a suspended license in Bridgehampton Friday. Victor Velasquez, 38, was stopped near Millstone and Guyer roads around 8:40 a.m. for having an expired temporary inspection when police learned his license was suspended because he failed to answer a summons out of Riverhead Town Court two days earlier, officials said.

He was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and a traffic violation.

• A Riverhead man was arrested for driving with a suspended license in Flanders Saturday.

Neftali Hernandez, 48, was involved in a car accident near Flanders Road and Cross River Drive around 11:25 p.m. when police learned he was driving with a suspended license, officials said.

He was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and a traffic violation.

• Police arrested a Flanders man for driving with a suspended license in Flanders Sunday.

Eliseo Medrano, 39, was stopped near Flanders and Red Creek roads around 1:55 a.m. for a traffic violation when police learned his license was suspended for alcohol-related offenses, officials said.

He was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and three traffic violations.

• A Riverhead man was arrested for driving with a suspended license in Riverside last Monday.

Southampton Town police arrested two Riverside men on a drug charge in the hamlet last Tuesday.

William Turner, 40, was seen at a “known narcotics area” on Old Quogue Road around 3:05 a.m. removing a quantity of crack cocaine from a plastic bag and placing it in the hand of Eddie Buckley, 61, officials said.

Mr. Turner attempted to flee the scene when the arresting officer approached but was quickly apprehended after tripping over a hole in the ground, according to a police report.

A clear plastic bag containing crack cocaine was located on the ground where Mr. Turner fell, police said. Mr. Buckley also had crack cocaine and two pipes in his possession, according to the report.

Mr. Buckley was charged with misdemeanor seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Mr. Turner was charged with felony fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance and third-degree escape, a misdemeanor.

• A Flanders man was arrested for drug possession in Riverside Saturday.

Eddie Cabrera, 31, was the passenger in a car on Flanders Road at around 1:15 p.m. when he was spotted not wearing a seat belt, police said. When they asked for identification, police saw a clear glassine baggie containing powdered cocaine fall out of a pants pocket, police said. Mr. Cabrera also reportedly had an active bench warrant for failing to appear in court.

He was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor.

• Police arrested a Flanders man for driving while intoxicated in Riverside Monday.

Erick Nig Soc, 23, was stopped for driving without headlights while heading south on Flanders Road near Old Quogue Road at around 1:05 a.m., and police determined he was intoxicated, officials said. He was arrested and transported to headquarters for processing.

Mr. Nig Soc was charged with DWI and refusal to take a breath test, both misdemeanors, and multiple traffic violations.

• A Flanders man was arrested for DWI in Flanders Saturday.

German, 24, was involved in a car accident around 4:25 a.m. and left the scene on foot. He and his passenger were later found about 500 feet from the Flanders Road location, officials said. Police determined that Mr. Caxmendez was intoxicated and he admitted to drinking six or seven beers, officials said.

He was charged with DWI, a misdemeanor, and multiple violations.

• A Hampton Bays man was arrested for resisting arrest in Flanders Sunday.

Robinson Echeverry, 28, was repeatedly asked to step away from police officers processing other arrests at Ranchero Latino on Flanders Road around 1 a.m. In response, Mr. Echeverry screamed curses at the officers and patrons, according to a police report. He initially tried to flee into the restaurant and then tried to fight with the officers, kicking and spitting at them, police said.

He was charged with resisting arrest, a misdemeanor, and disorderly conduct, a violation.

• A Riverhead man was arrested for driving with a suspended license in Westhampton last Thursday.

Malik Allen, 30, was stopped near South Road and Baycrest Avenue around 4:30 a.m. for having tinted windows and police learned his license and registration had both been suspended for not having insurance, police said.

He was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and three traffic violations.

• Police arrested a Carmel, N.Y., man for driving with a suspended license in Flanders Saturday.

When William Rodriguez, 57, was stopped around 10:05 a.m. on Flanders Road for having an unreadable license plate, police learned he was driving with a suspended license due to a prior DWI, officials said.

He was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor, and two traffic violations.

• A resident of June Avenue in Flanders reported that two watches, a cell phone and clothing had been stolen from his locked bedroom sometime between 10:50 p.m. last Thursday and 9:25 a.m. Friday, police said. No arrest has been made at this time.

• A Riverside Avenue resident reported hearing a loud sound outside her home around 9:40 p.m. Monday. When police arrived, they saw that her car’s windshield was cracked and damaged, officials said. No arrest has been made.

• A Flanders man reported that he mailed a $3,200 watch to a buyer and never received payment, but had no supporting documentation to show at the time, officials said.

Southampton Town police arrested a Riverhead man for driving while intoxicated in Hampton Bays last Saturday.

Arlin Castro, 22, was driving a silver pickup truck out of Southampton Town police headquarters parking lot on Old Riverhead Road about 6 a.m. when he crossed over a double yellow line, officials said. Mr. Castro was reportedly “highly intoxicated,” smelled strongly of alcohol and had slurred speech and watery bloodshot eyes. He told police he’d had “five Heinekens and two shots of Fireball,” and performed poorly on all field sobriety tests, officials said.

He was charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, a felony, aggravated DWI and DWI, both misdemeanors, and a traffic violation.

• A 34-year-old Sag Harbor man was charged with driving while intoxicated late Saturday night after a traffic stop on Flanders Road.

Oscar Bautista was charged with DWI.

• New York State police arrested a Riverhead man for possessing forged documents in Riverside last Saturday.

Ever Yac Ovalle, 19, was stopped on Riverleigh Avenue for traffic violations and was later charged with two counts of felony possession of a forged instrument after he was found to have a forged social security card and a forged resident card, officials said.

• A Riverside man was arrested for DWI in Riverside last Saturday.

After Jose Pineda-Medina, 27, was stopped for a traffic infraction while traveling north on Flanders Road about 5:10 a.m., police discovered he was intoxicated, officials said.

He was charged with aggravated DWI and DWI, both misdemeanors, as well as multiple traffic violations.

• Police arrested a Riverhead woman for DWI in Westhampton last Saturday.

Joselyn Palomocastro, 20, was stopped near Old Riverhead Road for multiple traffic violations about 3:15 a.m. when police noticed she smelled of alcohol, officials said. She performed poorly on all standard field sobriety tests and failed a pre-screen breath test, officials said.

She was charged with misdemeanor DWI and multiple traffic infractions, police said.

• A Flanders man was arrested for DWI in Flanders last Sunday.

Walfred Lopez, 24, was seen crossing lanes near Cypress Avenue and Silver Brook Road about 3:05 a.m. and also had a broken taillight, officials said. Police said Mr. Lopez was intoxicated, unlicensed and driving an unregistered car.

He was charged with misdemeanor DWI and multiple traffic violations.

• Police arrested a Flanders man for DWI in Riverside last Tuesday.

Gregory Powell, 53, was stopped for a traffic infraction about 6:30 p.m. on Flanders Road when police noticed he smelled of alcohol and had glassy eyes and slurred speech, officials said. He failed a pre-screen breath test and admitted to “drinking a few beers,” officials said. His car also was unregistered and had switched plates, police said.

He was charged with misdemeanor DWI and multiple traffic violations.

• State police arrested a Southampton man for DWI in Riverside last Sunday.

Edgar Garcia Gomez, 26, was stopped on Flanders Road for failing to stay in his lane and was then charged with misdemeanor DWI, officials said.

• Police arrested a Medford man for assault in Riverhead last Sunday.

Brian Walker, 52, reportedly had a verbal dispute with another man on Roanoke Avenue about 11:30 a.m., which escalated when Mr. Walker punched the man in the face, officials said.

He was charged with third-degree assault, a misdemeanor.

• A Riverhead woman was arrested for driving with a suspended license in Flanders last Monday.

Dedra Trent, 43, was stopped about 9:20 a.m. on Flanders Road after the officer’s license plate recognition camera detected she had a suspended registration and insurance lapse, officials said.

She was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and a traffic violation.

• Police arrested a Ridge woman for driving with a suspended license in Riverside last Tuesday.

Hailey Marzigliano, 20, was stopped for driving with a broken brake light about 12:05 a.m. near the traffic circle on Flanders Road when police learned she had a suspended license for an expired registration, officials said.

She was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor, and two traffic violations.

Southampton Town police arrested a Riverhead man for driving while intoxicated in Riverside Monday.

Dimitri Baley-Canel, 26, was stopped about 12:40 a.m. for failing to stay in his lane while headed south on Flanders Road, officials said. Mr. Baley-Canel appeared disoriented and smelled of alcohol, police said. He failed a pre-screen breath test with a .26 percent blood alcohol content, which is more than three times above the legal limit, officials said.

He was charged with operating a motor vehicle intoxicated with a prior conviction, a felony, and three traffic violations, police said.

• New York State police arrested a Flanders man for DWI in Flanders Friday.

Henry Monge, 33, was stopped for driving without headlights on County Road 104 and failed standardized tests, officials said. He was also charged with second-degree criminal impersonation, a misdemeanor, after he provided identification for another person, officials said.

He was held for arraignment in the Town of Southampton Court.

• Police arrested a Southampton man for driving with a suspended license in Flanders last Monday.

• A Bay Shore man was arrested for driving with a suspended license in Northampton last Tuesday.

• Police arrested a Flanders man for driving with a suspended license in North Sea last Wednesday.

Pordidio Hernandez, 27, was stopped on Noyac Road about 5:05 p.m. for multiple equipment violations when police learned he had a suspended license for driving without insurance, officials said.

He was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and three traffic violations.

• A Riverhead man was arrested for driving with a suspended license in Riverside last Thursday.

William Jackson, 26, was stopped about 11:15 a.m. after license plate recognition cameras on Flanders Road registered that he had a suspended registration, officials said.

He was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and a traffic violation.

• An East Quogue man was arrested for driving with a suspended license in Flanders Friday.

Wilson Garcia, 49, drove through a stop sign at Oak Avenue and Havens Drive about 11:30 p.m., officials said, and police discovered his license had been revoked.

He was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and a traffic violation.

• Police arrested a Riverhead man for driving with a suspended license in Flanders Sunday.

Edgar Corado, 34, was stopped for leaving his lane when police learned his non-driver identification was suspended, officials said.

He was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and two violations.

• A Suffolk County Community College student accused a fellow student of stalking. School security is handling the incident internally and the complainant wanted the incident documented by police.

Southampton Town police arrested a Riverhead man for driving while intoxicated in Riverside Saturday, according to a police report.

Kareem White, 31, was stopped about 2:35 a.m. on Flanders Road for multiple equipment violations and police noticed his breath smelled strongly of alcohol, officials said. He performed poorly on standard field sobriety tests and failed a pre-screening breath test with a .12 percent blood alcohol content, officials said. Police also learned he had a revoked driver’s license.

He was charged with DWI with a previous conviction within the past 10 years and first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, both felonies, and multiple traffic violations.

• A Huntington Station man was arrested for DWI in Flanders last Tuesday.

Paulie Tallini, 36, was headed south on Flanders Road about 12:15 a.m. and was seen crossing over double yellow and white shoulder lines, officials said. He reportedly failed a pre-screen breath test with a .11 percent BAC, police said.

Mr. Tallini was charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated with a prior conviction, a felony; third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor; and multiple traffic violations.

• Police arrested a Flanders man Sunday for driving with a forged state inspection sticker.

Shawn Diming, 35, was stopped at around 5:25 p.m. on Flanders Road for multiple traffic violations. He was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, a felony, and multiple traffic violations.

• Police arrested a Hampton Bays man for DWI in Riverside Sunday.

After Oliver Dantes, 36, was stopped near the traffic circle at Lake Avenue about 12:25 a.m. for traffic violations, police noticed he had glassy eyes and his breath smelled of alcohol, officials said. He performed poorly on standard field sobriety tests and failed a pre screen-breath test, officials said.

He was charged with misdemeanor DWI and multiple equipment violations.

• A Riverhead man was arrested for DWI in Flanders Sunday.

Robinson Mayen Ruiz, 24, was stopped for violating multiple traffic laws about 11 p.m. on Flanders Road. He performed poorly on standard field sobriety tests and failed a pre-screen breath test, officials said.

He was charged with misdemeanor DWI and numerous traffic violations.

• Police arrested a Southampton man on a drug charge in Flanders last Monday.

Barry Riddick, 53, was allegedly seen walking down Silver Brook Drive about 6:05 p.m. with an open can of Coors beer. As police arrested him, they noticed he had a quantity of crack cocaine in his left hand, officials said.

He was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and a violation.

• An Aquebogue man was arrested on a drug charge in Riverside last Tuesday.

Rodney Dalmida, 65, seen walking in the roadway and obstructing traffic on Old Quogue Road about 12:15 p.m., officials said. Police then learned he reportedly possessed a quantity of heroin.

He was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and a traffic violation.

• A Calverton woman was arrested for driving with a suspended license in Flanders last Monday.

Adrienne Perry, 26, was involved in a car accident about 1:10 p.m. near Route 105 and Flanders Road and police learned she had a suspended driver’s license, officials said.

She was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor.

• Police arrested a Riverhead man for driving with a suspended license in Riverside last Monday.

Joseph Wagner, 34, was stopped for speeding about 3:05 p.m. near the Shell gas station on Lake Avenue and police learned he had a suspended license, officials said. Mr. Wagner was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and a traffic violation.

• Police arrested a Riverhead man for driving with a suspended license in Hampton Bays last Tuesday.

Giedrius Karvelis, 36, was stopped about 7:50 p.m. on Montauk Highway for an equipment violation and police learned he had a suspended license, officials said.

He was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and a traffic violation.

• A Riverhead man was arrested for driving with a suspended license in Hampton Bays Monday.

Harry Jackson, 28, was stopped about 1:50 a.m. on Old Riverhead Road for having a broken headlight and police learned his license had been suspended for failure to pay a fine, officials said.

He was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and a traffic violation.

• Police arrested a Riverhead man for driving with a suspended license in Riverside Monday.

Russell Jones, 61, was stopped on Peconic Avenue near Grangebel Park about 3:30 p.m. for a traffic violation when police learned he had several suspensions, officials said. He was charged with second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and a traffic violation.

• A Riverhead woman was arrested for driving with a suspended license in Riverside Monday.

Carol Parker, 43, was seen talking on her cell phone about 10:30 p.m. near Vail Avenue and Flanders Road when police learned she had a suspended license, officials said.

She was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor, and two traffic violations.

He was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a misdemeanor.

Update: Police identify Route 51 fatal car crash victims

(Update 11:45 a.m.) Southampton police have identified the victims from Tuesday’s fatal car crash.

Christian Goody of Shelter Island and Zachary Powell of East Moriches, both age 20, were pronounced dead at the scene following a single-car crash on Route 51 in Northampton, police said.

Mr. Powell was driving southbound in a 2004 Infinity around 9:50 p.m. when he lost control of the vehicle, veered off the roadway and crashed into a wooded area south of Speonk-Riverhead Road, police said.

His other passenger, 19-year-old Ashley Picozzi of Saint James, was airlifted to Stony Brook Hospital by Suffolk County Police Aviation and is listed in critical condition, officials said.

The vehicle was impounded for a safety check, police said.

No other details about the investigation were immediately available.
